All of our avocados are shipped firm to preserve freshness. See the ripening instructions below:

1. Upon receiving:

- Take them out of the box immediately.

2. Placement for ripening:

- Spread them out indoors on a countertop.

- You can place them in a paper bag or in a paper bag with an apple or banana peel to speed up ripening. These fruits release ethylene gas, which accelerates the ripening process. 

3. Temperature and light:
- Keep them in a warm area, but out of direct sunlight. Warmth helps ripen the fruit evenly.

4. Check for ripeness daily:

- Ripe: Slight give when pressed gently.

- Overripe: Mushy texture or brown spots—avoid eating.

5. After ripening:
- Once ripe, you can refrigerate them to slow down further ripening and keep them fresh for up to a week.

6. What to avoid:

- Don’t store in the shipping box, garage, or outside—they’re sensitive to temperature changes.

- Avoid extremes of heat or cold.
