December is our busiest time of the year for our gift packs, this year with 4 times the orders as
last year,
Thanks to Vinil of Bright Media House, our new Site director. We thank you all who ordered and will
work hard all year delivering the best avocados you have ever tasted.
Working on the ranch to grow the best avocados to you, we have finished spreading our last 35 Yd
truck load of grove MULCH to help retain the rain and irrigation water and keep the trees warmer
through the winter. We are getting ready to plant some our new baby trees in the warmer area of the
ranch.
These varieties are Gems, Samee’s, Sir Prizes, Bacons, Ettinger’s, and Shadwell’s. They will start
producing in 2 to 3 years and be in your order box the 4th year and on.
Water is the most important ingredient in producing avocados, and natural water is the best and
cheapest, we have 7 holes and 4 wells. We will be dropping a pump in #5 hole this spring to
generate 25 to 20,000 Gallons of water a day.
Our next job besides picking for orders will be stacking up idle propping stakes and re-staking
where necessary to protect the trees from breaking limbs.
Our fertilizing program will start in February and continue through the growing season to
September. Spring blooming season is in Feb through April. This blooming season demands the
absolute maximum from the tree as it sets and holds the year’s crop to be picked next year. The
real trick is to have your trees strong enough to create the foliage to protect the little fruit
set all through the spring & summer heat.
